antique Chinese Manchu Peking knot wedding skirt dates from the
Qing Dynasty. It is made of red and royal blue silk, with yellow
silk jacquard trim. There are two matching apron panels which are
all hand embroidered with colorful Forbidden blind seed stitch Peking
knot work, and gold couching work. The skirt has pleated sides with
appliqués of golden pheasant birds done in gold couching
with silk tassels hanging down. There is a wide linen waistband
sewn along the top, with ties and buttons for closure. This fabulous
early wrap around style wedding skirt apron is all hand stitched.
The skirt measures 35 inches long, and has a 45 inch waistband.
It is in excellent clean wearable condition with only some faint
stains on the linen waistband. This is a great piece of unique one
