Au
Royal Madrid Edwardian Lilac Brocade Corset. |

| This
rare antique Edwardian Titanic era Au Royal Madrid lilac brocade
corset dates from 1912. It is made of a lilac colored bow patterned
brocade fabric, with white lace trim edging around the top woven
through with the original lilac silk ribbon. This lovely longline
style corset has a busk hook front laced closure and steel boned
stays inside. The busk also has an ornate pointed busk hook sewn
on top of the material used to anchor the waistbands of petticoats.
It is stamped inside "Au Royal Corset Madrid" model number
T-56 and E/3. The original corset string laces for lacing up the
back are missing. The corset measures 21 inches long, with a 30
inch adjustable bust. It is in excellent wearable condition, with
only slight fraying of the silk ribbon trim, the lace trim is a
bit dingy and there is a tiny faint age spot on the front (see bottom
photo for close-up). This beautiful corset is a wonderful piece
of wearable Edwardiana art and a rare find. |
