Black Silk Brocade Cape Capelet. |
| This
antique Victorian era black silk brocade cape capelet dates from
1880. It is made of a blackish brown silk brocade fabric with a
swirling feather paisley print design. This stunning short style
cape has a stand up ruffled collar covered with red silk backing
and black chantilly lace trim. There is black silk ribbon edging
the collar and bow trim down the front, with hooks and eyes for
closure. It is fully lined in a red silk striped fabric with a "Beifeld
Chicago" label sewn inside. The cape measures 130 inches bottom
circumference, with an 18 inch neck. It is in good wearable condition,
with only some fraying of the inside silk fabric lining. This a
