extraordinary Edwardian era ecru gold crushed velvet opera coat
capelet dates from 1910. It is made of an ecru golden cream color
crushed velvet silk fabric with a textured pattern design. There
is ecru cream colored lace trim edging the front opening, collar
and sleeve cuffs. This outstanding opera coat has full bishop style
sleeves, with rolled sleeve cuffs and a large shawl style capelet
collar. There are decorative etched gold steel cut buttons on the
front with side rope loop closures and the inside is beautifully
lined in white silk with embroidered appliqué trim edging
and "The Daniels and Fisher Stores Co." label. The coat
measures 39 inches long, with 60 inch hips, a 48 inch bust, 15 inch
back and 24 inch long sleeves. It is in excellent wearable condition
and is truly a unique one of a kind coat and a rare piece of wearable
