This vintage Art Deco black and white embroidered floral peacock coat dates from the 1920s. It is made of an off white ecru cream color silk crepe fabric with black raised padded satin stitch embroidery work done in a floral peacock design pattern. This fabulous flapper loose fitting drop waist coat has a single button closure, small lapel collar and long sleeves. It is fully lined in silk. The coat measures 45 inches long, with 44 inch hips, waist, a 40 inch bust, 15 inch back and 22 inch long sleeves. This unique piano shawl inspired coat is in good wearable condition, with a few faint small age spots and some fraying along the inside silk lining hemline. It is an extraordinary piece of wearable Art Deco textile art.
