This antique Victorian era gentlemen's silk brocade double breasted waistcoat vest dates from 1900. It is made of a black and off white ivory color silk brocade fabric done in an abstract pattern design. There is a off white cotton fabric backing, with an adjustable back strap and rhinestone pearl pin closure, which is not original and would have had a buckle closure. This dapper dandy gentlemen's double breasted waistcoat vest has a fold over lapel collar, four front slit pockets, two at the breast and two at the bottom and 6 pearl buttons for closure on the front, with 3 more hidden underneath allowing the vest to be worn front flap closed to either the left or right. The vest measures 20 inches long, with a 32 inch waist and 36 inch chest. It is in good wearable condition, with only some slight soiling discoloration along the bottom pocket openings. This is truly a wonderful Victorian vest.
