Burial Extension Satin Slipper Shoes. |
| These
two pairs of antique Victorian Civil War era burial extension satin
slipper shoes date from the 1860s. They are hand stitched and made
of white satin with gathered fronts and backs. They are lined in
linen with white soft canvas bottom soles. The shoes come in their
original box with delicate paper cut work trim inside. This unique
rare lot includes two identical pairs of unworn funeral burial extension
satin slippers for a mother and child. One box is marked "Misses"
and they measure 8 inches long, 2 1/2 inches wide and the other
is marked "Children's" and they measure 4 inches long,
1 3/4 inches wide. They are in excellent clean condition with only
some wear to the boxes. These are a rare and unusual find and would
make for a great display piece.
