This rare pair of antique Victorian era black button boots Goodyear galoshes date from 1870. They are made of a black fine wool fabric. The boots have rounded toes, with 10 black buttons for closure along the scalloped trimmed sides. There are black rubber soles stamped on the bottom "Goodyear's Rubber New York". These unique early galoshes style winter overshoes boots have a "Thayer, Mc Neil & Hodgkins" name plate label inside. The boots measure 10 inches long, 3 inches wide and are stamped on the bottom a size 6 1/2 M. They are in good condition and have been gently worn and are a rare find.
