This pair of antique Victorian era black leather jet beaded little people shoes date from the 1880s. They are made of black leather with black jet beading done in a floral design on the front toes. These beautiful beaded slip on pump style petite ladies evening shoes have 2 1/2 inch high cube heels. They are stamped inside on the insoles "Mollan Bridgeport, CT." label. Bridgeport Connecticut is the birthplace and was home to famous little person General Tom Thumb (1838-1883). The shoes measure a mere 8 inches long, 2 1/4 inches wide and are approximately a size 3 or 4. These rare small shoes would have been worn by a little person of short stature and are in good condition and have been gently worn.
