Silk Floral Bluebird Fan. |
This
Victorian era hand painted silk fan dates from 1890. It is made
of a pleated pale pink silk satin background with hand painted cherry
blossoms, dandelions and bluebirds. There are hand sewn tiny silver
sequins applied to the cherry blossoms. The fan has carved and pierced
ivory bone sticks and guards with a brass loop and rivet at the
bottom. It measures 14 inches long and 33 inches wide when opened.
The fan is in good useable condition with a repaired broken guard.
