antique Chinese silk embroidery portfolio dates from the 1920s.
It is made of a black silk background with colorful hand stitched
raised padded satin stitch embroidery work and forbidden blind seed
stitch Peking knot work. There are elaborately embroidered butterflies,
peony flowers and gourds on the front surrounded by a brown silk
brocade border trim. The inside and back are lined in black silk
with side ribbon tie lacing. This unique portfolio style folder
measures 12 1/2 by 15 inches. It is in good condition with some
frayed wear to the black silk edging. $150 |
