This vintage German Fashion magazine plastic clutch purse dates from 1976. It is made of hard plastic and covered with a German fashion magazine cover from the Autumn Winter 1976 edition. This unique clutch style purse has a white leather strap and silver stud snap closure. It is fully lined in a burgundy wine color nylon fabric with inside pocket. As the story goes, these ingenious handbags are an Italian invention to deter thieves. Purse snatchers would see them and think they were rolled up magazines not handbags and pass them by. Now they are a sort of pop art icon. The purse measures 12 inches long, 5 inches wide and 12 inches in circumference. It is in good useable condition, with only the top being slightly warped and bent with a slight gap at the opening.
