This
antique Ottoman period Turkish embroidery linen sash towel dates
from the late 1800s. It is made of a homespun hand woven linen fabric
with hand embroidery work. There are vibrant colorful embroidered
needlework designs with gold metallic thread accents done along
the bottom edging. There are matching domestic geometric, floral
and camel or elephant embroidered decorative designs on both sides
of the mid 19th century sash ends fabric towel along with colorful
knotted fringe trim. The small sash towel measures 25 inches long
and is 11 inches wide. It has wonderful workmanship and is excellent
condition, with only a few faint age spot stains. This is truly
a beautiful one of a kind piece of Ottoman Turkish textile art. $150 |
