This exquisite antique ribbon work flower basket net lace bedspread and doilies date from the 1920s. It is made of a sheer off white ecru cream color net filet lace, with colorful pastel silk ribbon work embroidery done in a floral garland bouquet bow pattern and flower basket design. This lovely lace bedspread bed cover and 5 matching doilies are a work of art, and a kind of sampler of a variety of lace techniques. The bedspread has a built in pillow sham sewn along the top and measures 103 inches long and 84 inches wide. Included are five matching dresser scarves, runners and doilies measuring 42 by 18 inches, 26 by 18 inches 17 by 7 inches and two are 15 by 12 inches. The set is in excellent condition and looks to have never been used, just stored away. It is a rare and wonderful piece of antique lace textile art. $250 |
