This antique Victorian Civil War era mourning black silk ebony folding marquis parasol dates from the 1860s. It is made of a black silk fabric, with a frayed scalloped bottom trim edging. There is a black ebony wood carved bulbous handle and finial top. The parasol is fully lined in black silk, with wood and metal inside spokes frame which are in fine working order. The parasol measures 27 inches long extended, 15 inches long when folded and the fabric is 56 inches in circumference when opened up. It is in excellent useable condition.
