Antique Tambour Embroidered Net Lace Curtain Drape Panel. |
This Victorian era antique tambour embroidered net lace curtain drapery panel dates from 1900. It is made of an off white ecru color sheer cotton net, with tambour and raised padded satin stitch embroidery work, appliqued tape lace, connecting brides and bars. There is a scalloped edging. This single lovely long lace curtain drapery panel has been created from two different yet similar panels which were sewn together in the middle and have the same top border edging trim. It might have been used as a valance in a posh parlor Victorian sitting room. The large panel measures 110 inches long and 50 inches wide. It is in as-is fair condition, has not been cleaned and is dirty. There are 3 small holes and a 3 inch rip (see close-ups). This is a wonderful piece of antique lace textile art which could be redesigned into something new. $100 |
