Victorian Sequin Silk Painted Forget Me Not Flower Fan. |
This antique Victorian era sequin silk painted forget-me-not flower fan dates from 1890. It is made of a sheer off white ivory color silk, with hand painted pastel forget-me-not flowers and tiny hand sewn gold sequin accents. The artist signature appears on the bottom corner (see close-up). The forget-me-not symbolizes true love and is a symbol of remembrance, faithful love and memories. There are carved, pierced bone sticks and guards, with hand painted pastel and gold details, a brass loop and rivet holding it together on the bottom. The fan measures 8 1/2 inches long and 20 inches wide when opened. This fabulous fan is in excellent clean useable condition. It is very sweet and could be used for a wedding.
