This antique Victorian era black plush velvet jet beaded soutache fur trim winter cloak cape dates from 1890. It is made of a heavy black plush velvet fabric, with jet beading, black soutache work raised trim done in decorative spiral scrolling designs and a black fur trim edging. This beautiful black beaded winter cloak cape has a shawl style collar which can be worn folded up or down, with hook closures on the front and is fully lined in a contrasting red cotton fabric with an inside breast pocket. The cape measures 22 inches long, 20 inches across the shoulders and has a 14 inch neck. It is in good condition, with only some loose missing beading and fur trim (see close-up). This is truly a wonderful piece of antique Victoriana winter mourning wearable art!
