This Victorian era antique wool signed Kashmir paisley shawl collar cloak cape dates from the 19th century. It is made of jacquard hand loomed woven wool done in strong bright vivid autumn fall colors, with the black wool center pieced on the back and signed by the weaver in a white hand embroidered stitching and a colorful floral leaf border edging the black square center. There is a colorful Kashmir wool hand stitched embroidered pieced patchwork style fringed border trim edging. This stunning shawl was created into a long floor length winter cloak cape, with a large shawl collar folded over the shoulders, paisley button closures on the front neck and is unlined. There is wonderful workmanship and detail, with an Indian paisley design. The cape measures 48 inches long, with a 19 inch wide back shoulders and 16 inch neck. It is in good as-is condition, with several small holes, mostly on the black back center and a mended repair on the bottom back (see close-up). This is truly a rare and exceptional piece of wearable paisley textile art!
