This antique Victorian era gentleman's grid lattice trellis vine silk damask brocade waistcoat vest dates from the 1850s. It is hand stitched, made of an iridescent olive green and golden brown color silk brocade damask weave fabric, with a woven grid latticework trellis vine leaf plaid pattern design. There is a brown polished cotton fabric backing, with an adjustable metal buckle, strap on the lower back. This dapper gentleman's waistcoat vest has a rounded fold over lapel collar, three front pockets and silk fabric covered buttons for closure on the front and is fully lined in white cotton fabric with an inside breast pocket. The vest measures 19 inches long, with a 40 inch chest and 32 inch waist. It is in good as-is condition, with only a few tiny pin holes on the back near the shoulders (see close-up). This is truly a quality made men's early Victorian vest and wonderful piece of wearable art!
