It is made of a white handmade Irish crochet lace with a dense heavily created raised three dimensional flower leaf design, connecting thread picot ornamented bars, detailed meshwork and scalloped lace trim edging.

This exquisite antique Victorian era white Irish crochet lace long coat mutton sleeve jacket dates from 1900. It is made of a white handmade Irish crochet lace with a dense heavily created raised three dimensional flower leaf design, connecting thread picot ornamented bars, detailed meshwork and scalloped lace trim edging. This lovely lace coat jacket is long mid length, with a loose fitting open front, no closure, a tailored fitted back, long leg of mutton gigot style sleeves with fitted cuffs coming to a point, and is sheer, unlined. The coat measures 34 inches long, with a 34 inch bust, 34 inch waist, 12 inch back and 25 inch long sleeves. It is in good condition, but has not been laundered with only a faint small age spot stain on the bottom back side hem (see close-up). This is truly a rare and exceptional, quality made piece of wearable antique Irish crochet lace art!
