It is made of an off white cream color linen fabric, with a brown striped cotton fabric insert trimming the sleeve cuffs and lapel collar.

This vintage Edwardian era linen striped sailor shawl collar womens duster driving motoring coat dates from 1918. It is made of an off white cream color linen fabric, with a brown striped cotton fabric insert trimming the sleeve cuffs and lapel collar. This wonderful women's duster motoring coat is a long floor length, with a wide lapel shawl sailor style collar, gathered shoulders, long sleeves with rolled cuffs, 3 large mother of pearl buttons on the side front for closure and is unlined. The coat measures 49 inches long, with a 36 inch bust, 32 inch waist, 44 inch hips, 14 inch back and 23 inch long sleeves. This coat would have been worn to protect ones clothing from the dust and mud when traveling, riding and driving in a motor car. It is in good condition, with only a tiny frayed hole on the back (see close-up). This is truly a wonderful piece of wearable womens motoring outerwear textile art!
