This vintage antique Indian Gujarat kutch work embroidery mirrorwork choli boho blouse top dates from the mid 19th century. It is hand stitched, made a hand dyed fine silk fabric sewn onto and backed with a dark red burgundy color cotton twill woven fabric, with colorful kutch embroidery work, chain stitching and buttonhole stitching surrounding small glass mirrors creating an ethnic floral design. This traditional tribal ghagra choli costume blouse top is from Gujarat, Rajasthan India and has a fitted, short cropped midriff style with an open back, an adjustable back neck tie strap closure, short sleeves and is unlined. The top measures 18 inches long, with a 28 inch chest and 28 inch waist. It is in fair as-is condition, with several frays and splits in the silk fabric which has the hand embroidery work stabilized on the heavier cotton fabric backing (see close-ups). This is truly a beautiful rare early example piece of Indian tribal hand embroidered boho wearable art! |
