This vintage Art Deco gold lame floral print velvet flapper opera coat jacket dates from the 1920s. It is made of a black silk and gold metallic lame thread woven brocade fabric with a damask weave peach color floral print and circular, triangle shape geometric designs. This fabulous flapper opera coat jacket has a loose fitting long mid length cocoon wrap style with a peplum skirted back drape, a large quilted ruched black velvet shawl collar which can be worn up or down, long full sleeves with black velvet ruched gathering flared wide cuffs, a single button closure at the neck and is fully lined in luxurious black silk velvet fabric inside. The coat measures 34 inches long, with a 60 inch bust, 18 inch back and 24 inch long sleeves. It is in good as-is condition, with some slight fade discoloration from black to brown on the velvet fabric in areas, a small fray on the front top and two larger mended repairs along the front side under the arm area (see close-ups). This is truly an extraordinary piece of wearable Art Deco textile art! |
