This antique Victorian era red blue violet velvet wool mutton sleeve bodice skirt dress dates from 1890. It is made of a red and blue violet color iridescent woven wool fabric with a faded midnight blue velvet trim on the lapel collar and sleeves. This wonderful winter two piece dress gown has a bodice top with a wide folded lapel faux vest front shrug style, gathering down the front with hidden hook closures inside, leg o' mutton gigot style sleeves and is fully lined in a polished brown cotton fabric with stays boning, cami top sewn inside. The bodice measures 21 inches long, with a 34 inch bust, 24 inch waist, 24 inch long sleeves and a 10 inch back. There is a matching wool fabric, long floor length skirt, with hook closure on the back and is unlined with only a lined dust ruffle hem. The skirt measures 39 inches long, with a 22 inch waist. It is in good as-is condition, with some small faint stains, a couple of moth holes and some fraying, alteration on the back waist closure just on the skirt and only some slight fade discoloration on the velvet trim top. This is truly a unique color fabric piece of antique Victoriana wearable art! $100 |
