Victorian Yellow Silk Damask Floral Wheat Brocade Ball Gown Corset Bodice Fabric
This antique Victorian era yellow silk damask floral wheat brocade ball gown corset bodice and fabric dates from the 1860s. It is made of a pale pastel golden yellow color silk brocade damask weave fabric with a woven wheat ear stalk floral pattern design. This beautiful ball gown bodice has a corseted style with eyelet lacing down the front, coming to a point at the bottom, sleeveless and is fully lined in a brown silk floral damask fabric with stays boning sewn inside. There is an inner waistband with "Madame Morel Robes et Manteaux Brooklyn" label inside. The bodice measures 18 inches long, with a 32 inch bust and 22 inch waist. Included is matching fabric fragment remnant taken from the skirt. The cut fabric piece measures 36 inches long and is 28 inches wide. They are in fair as-is condition needing restoration and appear to have been cut, taken apart in the process of being altered, with frayed arm holes, missing the corset string lacing for closure on the front, uneven cut skirt fabric remnant and there is a few faint small stains discoloration on the bodice (see close-up). This is truly a wonderful piece of antique Victoriana textile art!
