It is made of a golden beige color and faded mauve color velvet fabric with gold metallic, brown cord embroidered raised braided soutache passementerie decorative trim accents. This magnificent dolman mantle style cape has a tailored fitted back, gathered puffed shoulders, attached velvet strap panels open front no sleeves set in, hook closure at the neck and is fully lined in a mauve silk quilted fabric cotton batting sewn inside for warmth. The mantle measures 24 inches long, with a 44 inch chest and 12 inch back. It is in good condition, with faint fade discoloration and some wear on the velvet nap (see close-up). This is truly a wonderful piece of antique Victoriana wearable art.
