This vintage pongee raw silk drawn thread work French knot embroidery tie neck dress dates from the 1920s. It is made of an off white ecru cream color unbleached natural raw silk pongee fabric with pleating, drawn thread work, French knots, raised padded satin stitch hand embroidery work decorative floral vine leaf designs and hand stitching details. This stunning summer dress has a loose fitting drop waist style with an attached tie neck bow trim, scalloped front top with carved clear glass button trim, an embroidered pleated front skirt panel, short sleeves with side cutout cuffs and is unlined. The dress is a large size measuring 44 inches long, with a 46 inch chest, 40 inch waist, 54 inch hips and 17 inch back. It is in good condition, with only a tiny faint age spot stain on the front skirt (see close-up). This is truly a wonderful piece of Art Deco wearable art. $250 |
