This antique early Victorian era pink challis wool roller print paisley shawl dates from the 1850s. It is made of a pale pink salmon color soft light weight fine Kashmir challis wool weave drawloom fabric, with a colorful natural dye roller print paisley pattern design done throughout. There is a narrow decorative white border edging and hand knotted fringe surrounding the entire shawl. These early shawls were made in Norwich, England and Paisley, Scotland with the fabric and designs taken from the shawls made in India and Kashmir.
