Silk Embroidered Piano Shawl Kimono Robe Coat. |
This vintage silk embroidered piano shawl kimono robe coat dates from the 1920s. It is made of a black rayon silk blend fabric, with pink embroidered flowers and Chinese character symbols medallion on the back. There is black silk fringe trim edging around the bottom. This lovely loose fitting kimono robe style coat has long full sleeves and an open front with no closure. The robe measures 38 inches long, with 44 inch hips, waist, a 48 inch bust and 20 inch back. It is in good wearable condition, with three tiny holes on the back near the bottom, a mended repair under the arms and under the back collar. This is a wonderful piece of wearable Art Deco textile art which could easily be worn out today.
