This antique black and pink silk embroidered Canton piano shawl dates from the 1920s. It is hand stitched and made of a black silk fabric background with colorful silk raised padded satin stitch hand embroidery work. There are a variety of colorful pastel pink floral, green, yellow, purple vine leaf designs done throughout. There is a fabulous hand knotted macramé black silk fringe which measures 18 inches long surrounding the entire shawl with rounded corners. The shawls fabric square measures 62 by 62 inches. This quality made Manton Canton Chinese Cantonese style Spanish Flamenco shawl is quite heavy weighing 2 pounds. It is in excellent clean wearable condition.
