White Silk Embroidered Piano Shawl Wedding Dress Train. |
This antique white silk embroidered piano shawl wedding dress train dates from the 1920s. It is made of a fine quality off white ivory color silk fabric, with beautiful hand done raised padded satin stitch embroidery work. There is a pearl beaded neckline and draping pearl strand trim sewn onto the sides. This beautiful bridal wedding gown dress was custom made and created from an antique Manton Canton Chinese Cantonese style Spanish Flamenco piano shawl, with hand knotted macramé off white silk fringe trim accents. It has a loose fitting drop waist style, with a rounded scoop neckline, sleeveless, an attached at the shoulders draping cape style train back with a white sheer silk chiffon lining and snaps, hook & eye closures down the back. There is a net lining camisole slip sewn inside, with a inner fitted waistband. The dress measures 38 inches long, with a 46 inch long back train, 36 inch hips, a 26 inch waist and 36 inch bust. It is in good wearable condition, with only a few missing pearls off the neckline (which there are a few extra loose pearls included for repair), the chiffon sleeves have been removed, some faint discoloration under the arms and a water spot stain on the bottom back train (see close-up). This is truly a rare wonderful piece of antique wedding textile art.
