This antique Victorian era paisley wool knit fringe dolman mantle cape dates from the 1870s. It is made of a multi-color silk wool knit fabric done in a striped pattern design. There is colorful silk fringe trim edging and matching silk covered beaded trim accents. This magnificent mantle cloak cape has long lappet front panels, dolman style partial sleeves and has a loose fitting cape like style. It is fully lined in silk, with hook and eye closure. The cape measures 31 inches long in the front, 28 inches long in the back, 17 inches across the shoulders, with a 44 inch bust. It is in good wearable condition, with only a few small repair mends on the bottom back and there is several missing silk beaded trim. This a wonderful piece of wearable Victoriana art. $250 |
