This antique wool paisley shawl suit jacket skirt set dates from the 1950s. It is made of an earlier Victorian era 1860s jacquard hand loomed woven wool shawl done in strong vivid vibrant colors of red, orange, brown, blue, green, gold, black and white in a decorative paisley pattern design, with the black wool star peiced onto the front jacket. This stunning shawl was beautifully custom made into a ladies suit jacket and skirt outfit, with wonderful workmanship and detail. The suit jacket coat has a peter pan style rounded collar, long sleeves and two large knotted black plastic beaded buttons and loops for closure on the front. The coat is fully lined in black silk, with a gold chain sewn along the bottom to weight the back and hang properly. The jacket measures 21 inches long, with a 36 inch waist, 38 inch bust, 15 inch back and 21 inch long sleeves. The matching pencil skirt has a fitted short style, with a zipper closure and is fully lined in black silk. The skirt measures 22 inches long, with 38 inch hips and a 26 inch waist. It is in excellent wearable condition. This is truly a wonderful one of a kind wearable piece of paisley textile art.
