Cream Silk Beaded Ruffled Drop Waist Flapper Dress. |
This antique Art Deco cream silk beaded ruffle drop waist flapper dress dates from the roaring 1920s. It is made of an off white cream color sheer silk fabric, with clear crystal beading done in a floral grid pattern design. This lovely loose fitting flapper style sleeveless drop waist dress has a rounded scoop neckline, layered tiered ruffle skirt and side snap closures. It is lined with a inner slip sewn inside and a "Read-Glover 713 West 7th St. Los Angeles" label sewn inside the waistband. The dress measures 41 inches long, with 32 inch hips, a 34 inch waist and 36 inch bust. It is in good wearable condition, has not been cleaned and has a few faint water spot stains on the bottom skirt and side (see close-up). This is a wonderful piece of wearable Art Deco beaded textile art.
