Antique Floral Silk Embroidered Piano Shawl Robe Coat. |
This vintage floral silk embroidered piano shawl robe coat dates from the 1980s, but was created from a antique 1920s piano shawl. It is made of a black silk fabric, with colorful raised padded satin stitch embroidery work done in a floral vine leaf design pattern. There is black silk hand knotted macramé fringe trim edging around the lapel collar, sleeve cuffs, front opening and bottom hemline. This lovely loose fitting robe style coat has 3/4 length sleeves, an embroidered lapel collar, 2 front pockets, shoulder padding and an open front with no closure. The robe measures 50 inches long, with 52 inch hips, waist, bust and a 16 inch back. It is in excellent clean wearable condition and has been beautifully constructed with great detail and design. This is a wonderful piece of wearable textile art.
