This antique Victorian era red and black voided velvet mantle cape jacket dates from 1890. It is made of a burgundy red silk background, with black voided velvet cut work textured decorative designs. This marvelous mantle style cape jacket has bat wing sleeves, a capelet fitted back, mandarin collar and black silk buttons down the front for closure. It is fully lined in a burgundy red silk fabric, with inner waistband tie belt and a "Homer Le Boutillier & Co. Philadelphia, PA." store label sewn inside. The mantle measures 18 inches long, with a 26 inch waist, 36 inch bust and is 13 inches across the shoulders. It is in excellent wearable condition. This a wonderful piece of wearable Victoriana art.
