This vintage Japanese geisha silk screen pink butterfly kimono dates from the Showa Period 1960s. It is hand stitched and made of a mauve dusty rose pink color silk damask floral petal patterned textured brocaded fabric. There are gray, pink and white silk screen butterflies completely covering the fabric. The butterfly symbolizes spring, womanhood, happiness and joy. It is fully lined in a white silk rayon fabric on the top and mauve along the bottom. This fabulous Japanese senior geisha kimono robe is quite heavy weighing almost 3 pounds and measures 69 inches long, with 20 inch long kimono sleeves and is 53 inches across the shoulders. It is in excellent clean wearable condition and comes wrapped in the original tatoushi rice paper packaging wrapping. This is a wonderful piece of wearable Japanese textile art.
