This vintage Japanese geisha gold brocade bird kimono tsuke obi dates from the Showa Period 1960s. It is made of a gold metallic silk brocaded fabric done in a green, blue and orange phoenix bird and flower medallion design pattern. This gorgeous Japanese senior geisha pre-tied tsuke obi sash is tied in the taiko musubi; drum bow knot and is secured around the waist, through the knot, with a matching brocaded fabric obijime sash string tie. It is two-sided with the same patterned brocade fabric on both sides. The tsuke obi knot measures 17 by 12 inches and the seperate obijime sash belt measures 70 inches long and 7 inches wide. It is in excellent condition and comes with the original tatoushi rice paper packaging wrapping. This is a wonderful piece of wearable Japanese textile art. $100 |
