Art Deco Brown Silk Beaded Drop Waist Flapper Dress. |
This vintage Art Deco brown silk beaded drop waist flapper dress dates from the 1920s. It is made of a chocolate brown silk fabric, with brown silk embroidered crescent designs and iridescent bronze beading done in a circular and striped geometric pattern. This beautiful beaded loose fitting flapper dress has a drop waist, with a rounded scoop neckline, long full sleeves and side skirt sash panels. There are snaps along the shoulder and side for closure and the inside top is lined in white silk. The dress is a large size measuring 52 inches long, with 42 inch hips, waist, bust, a 15 inch back and 22 inch long sleeves. It is in good wearable condition, with only a couple of small faint fade spots on the sleeve (see close-up). It is a wonderful wearable piece of Art Deco beaded textile art. $200 |
