This antique Ottoman Turkish gold embroidered purple silk jacket dates from 1900. It is hand stitched and made of a purple silk fabric, with gold gilt bullion metallic metal thread done in a couching, raised padded satin stitch embroidery stumpwork, with a 3-dimensional effect and gold sequin beaded accents. This opulent floral Turkish design mid length long loose fitting coat jacket has long full sleeves, is fully lined in linen, with an open front and no closure. The jacket measures 32 inches long, with 52 inch hips, waist, a 44 inch chest, 19 inch back and 20 inch long sleeves. It is in as-is fair condition, with wear and fraying of the silk fabric in areas. The shoulder fabric is ripped (see close-up). This is truly a rare and wonderful piece of wearable Turkish Ottoman art.
