This vintage Japanese geisha blue kiri mon silk screen kimono dates from the Showa Period 1960s. It is hand stitched, made of a dark traditional royal blue silk crepe fabric, with a bright golden yellow striped, bamboo leaf pattern. There are white, orange and green silk screen kiri paulownia, peony, chrysanthemum flower designs along the bottom. This fabulous formal Japanese senior geisha kimono has a single mon emblem family crest on the back neck of a autumn grapevine leaf design (see close-up). It is fully lined and is quite heavy weighing over 2 pounds. The kimono measures 65 inches long, with 21 inch long kimono sleeves and is 55 inches across the shoulders. Included is the original tatoushi rice paper packaging wrapping. It is in excellent wearable condition and a wonderful piece of wearable Japanese textile art.
