Victorian Cream Wool Bustle Train Wedding Gown Dress. |
This antique Victorian era cream wool bustle train wedding gown dress dates from 1890. It is made of a beautiful quality cream color fine wool fabric. This wonderful wedding gown dress has a fitted bodice, with a cream color textured ribbed silk fabric panel front, white lace trim, a rounded high neckline, flared wing shoulders and long tapered sleeves with fitted cuffs. It is fully lined with boning stays sewn inside, hooks & eyes for closure along the front side. The bodice measures 16 inches long, with a 24 inch waist, 32 inch bust and 13 inch back. There is a full floor length long skirt, with a slight bustle back train and off white ivory silk ribbon ruche ruffle pleated trim edging. It is fully lined, with layered petticoats sewn inside, hook and eye closure on the waist. The skirt measures 40 inches long in the front, 47 inches long in the back, with a 24 inch waist. This beautiful bridal wedding gown dress is custom made and finely constructed. It is in good wearable condition, with only some slight fraying on the silk front bodice and a small faint age spot stain on the sleeve (see close-up). The lace trim is loose on the front bodice and the fraying could be hidden by adding a lace collar or additional trim. This is a wonderful piece of wearable Victoriana art and would make a beautiful bridal wedding gown.
