Salesman Sample Dress Form Pink Silk Corset Girdle. |
This vintage salesman sample dress form pink silk corset girdle dates from the 1920s. It is made of cardboard, with a wooden base and covered with cotton padding and linen fabric covering the entire dress form. There is a pale pink silk damask brocaded fabric short style half corset girdle, with silk elastic trim and metal eyelets sewn onto the dress form. The dress form has remnants of frayed shattered pink silk fabric once covering it and silk rosette ribbon trim sewn around the base. This unique salesman sample dress form mannequin and corset girdle would have been used in a store display for advertising for a ladies lingerie department. The dress form measures 29 inches long, with a 20 inch waist and 22 inch bust. It is in as-is fair condition, with some wear, fraying of the silk fabrics and some water, age spot staining. This is a rare and unusual find.
