Edwardian Salesman Sample Lily of France Corset.

Edwardian Salesman Sample Lily of France Corset Front view.

This antique Edwardian era salesman sample Lily of France corset dates from 1910. It is made of a white cotton coutil fabric, with a pale pastel blue silk embroidered circular connecting ring pattern design, with white lace ruffle trim edging along the top and adjustable blue silk ribbon drawstring woven through it. This small short style corset has a slightly curved busk, steel hook front, metal eyelet laced closure back and boned stays sewn inside. There is "The Lily Of France Trade Mark" label hand embroidered inside. This unique salesman sample corset would have been used in a store display for advertising for a ladies lingerie department. It is an exact replica of a women's corset from the period made in miniature. The corset measures 10 inches long, with a 20 inch adjustable waist. It is in excellent condition, with only some faint small age spotting and the original laces are missing which have been replaced with blue silk ribbon. This is truly a rare and unusual find.
