This vintage Japanese ikat silk daisy dress and suit jacket date from the 1940s. It is made of a muted khaki brown color background, with shades of yellow, orange, black and white woven into the Japanese inspired ikat silk weave fabric. There is a floral daisy design pattern woven into the tie-dye style fabric. This delightful dress has a short sheath style, plunging V front neckline, with matching fabric bow tie trim, cap sleeves and side zipper closure. The dress measures 42 inches long, with 38 inch hips, a 28 inch waist and 38 inch bust. There is a matching suit jacket, with pleated ruche gathers along the bottom front sides, a small peter pan style collar, long sleeves and fabric covered buttons for closure down the front. The jacket is fully lined and measures 22 1/2 inches long, with 36 inch hips, a 28 inch waist, 38 inch bust, 15 inch back and 23 1/2 inch long sleeves. This outstanding outfit is custom made and is created from high quality, hand-loomed fabrics which resemble Japanese kimono fabric. It is in excellent clean wearable condition and is a wonderful ensemble of wearable art.
