Edwardian Black Chantilly Lace Robe Dressing Gown. |
This antique Edwardian Titanic era black chantilly lace robe dressing gown dates from 1912. It is made of a sheer fine delicate black chantilly lace net, with a decorative floral, vine leaf, swiss dotted design outlined in black threads with shading. There is black sequin beading sewn around the drop waist, with beaded ball tassel fringe trim accents hanging down the front and a hook & eye closure. This lovely lace lingerie dressing gown robe is loose fitting, a long floor length, with scalloped edging, a lace collar and flounce shoulder drape, long full sleeves with flared lace cuffs and an open front. It is fully lined in white silk which is frayed and splitting (see close-up). The robe measures 50 inches long, with 40 inch hips, waist, bust, a 17 inch back and 18 inch long sleeves. It is in good wearable condition, with only a few small breaks in the fine net lace along the sleeves (see close-ups). This is truly a wonderful piece of wearable antique lace textile art.
