This vintage Gallery of Wearable Art burgundy wool embroidered coat jacket dates from the 1980s. It is made of antique fabrics and trim, with a dark burgundy red color felted wool fabric background, colorful red, pink and white embroidered trim accents. There are elaborately embellished accents of chain stitch crewel embroidery work and red voided velvet gold metallic thread outlined applique's done in a floral medallion, scroll work and bow pieced patchwork design. This stunning sensational coat jacket is mid length, loose fitting, with a boxy swing style, long full sleeves, embroidered scalloped edgings and an open front with no closure. It if fully lined in a burgundy red silk lining, with inside pockets and "The Gallery of Wearable Art New York City" designer label. Bronnie Kupris founded The Gallery of Wearable Art in 1980 and created one of a kind modern heirloom jackets and coats integrating antique textiles and trims making each item a true timeless unique work of art!
