This antique Victorian era 3 coil spring crinolette bustle pad support dates from 1880. It is made of three wire metal spring coils covered in a white cotton fabric, with a cloth strap around the waist and button closure. This unique undergarment would have been worn under a bustle dress to expand the fullness or support the back drape of the fanned train skirt. The bustle pad measures 10 by 10 inches, with a 35 inch waistband. It is in good wearable condition, with some age spots and rust discoloration stains on the underside.
