This amazing antique Art Deco black silk silver lamé shawl cloak cape dates from the 1920s. It is made of a black silk background, with silver metallic lamé threads woven into the fabric in an embossed brocaded floral leaf pattern design which is reversed on the other side. There is a hand knotted black silk fringe trim sewn around the fabric square. This magnificent square shawl has been created into a beautiful cape cloak style, with an attached black silk neck scarf tie with fringed ends for closure around the neckline. The shawl measures 52 by 52 inches, with 20 inch long additional fringe. It is in excellent wearable condition. This is truly a rare piece of wearable Art Deco textile art. Tweet |
